Débora Parrine
Researcher debora.parrine{@}ebc.uu.se I am a Biologist, passionate about Science and the complexity of proteins and genes. I obtained my bachelors (Biological Sciences) and masters degree (Biotechnology) in Brazil, and then pursuit a Ph.D in Bioresrouce Engineering at McGill, in the beautiful Montréal. During my Ph.D, I got to explore Proteomics, a technique that captivated my attention. I came to Sweden for my postdoc training at Uppsala University, where I got to experiment with many different techniques to characterise the role of novel genes. Now, I have joined Fabien Burki’s team as a researcher, to explore the evolutionary history of plastids through Spatial-Proteomics. When I am not analysing samples in an expensive Mass Spectrometer, I am reading, playing music, crocheting and camping in the summer. I am also a scientific translator. |
